Goat Meat

We have a herd of Toggenburg and Alpine goats with access to pasture.  We use the milk ourselves and supplement the pigs’ feed with goat milk.  We also sell the meat from three to four month old kids raised on their mothers’ milk.  The meat is fairly similar to beef but leaner.

Goat meat prices per pound: loin chops, $13; rib chops, $11; shoulder steak, $9; leg, $10; ground meat, $10; stew meat, $10; shanks, $7; neck bones, $4; liver, kidney, heart, or tongue, $4.50; tallow, $3.
